We are looking for a warm-hearted special needs educator to work with an Apex Australia family, helping to develop the love of learning in the children you care for. As an educator, you will be designing activities that will support your children in reaching their fullest potential, encouraging their inquisitive nature and always looking for ways to make learning part of everyday activities and, most importantly, fun! This isn t your traditional home care/ educator position. Instead of supporting a large roster of clients, you will work with one family, providing dedicated support to their children. You will be able to really get to know and understand the children you are supporting, building a strong relationship with them while actively working towards their developmental goals. Your Responsibilities As A Special Needs Educator Include - Collaborate and work with the parents on developmental and educational outcomes - Find learning opportunities in the home and community setting, learning should be part of everyday life! - Be part of individualised curriculum development and execution - Creating learning resources that address child-specific developmental and learning needs - Stimulating and supporting learning processes e.g. educational games and activities - Designing experience-based activities - Assistance with personal care and hygiene - Assistance with meal times and feeding - Organisation and coordination of everyday appointments - Supporting the child in their social environment - Tidying away after play and meal times - Keeping the child engaged, playing and having fun (yes, it s a requirement!)
