An opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Engineer (Plant) to join our Melbourne based Tunnelling team in Head Office. Responsibilities of the role include Understand Tunnelling plant requirements to prepare detailed Project Tenders, ensuring they are suitably, fully costed with smart solutions that allow project production requirements to be achieved and exceeded with current leading edge and world best practices and innovations considered. Provide peer review to ensure optimal plant usage, providing an understanding of relevant detailed design and that works are planned and delivered in compliance with required technical specifications, respecting applicable legislation, approvals and standards. Provide technical assistance with specialised plant/equipment to meet productivity objectives through the optimum utilisation and deployment for both tender and project start-up phase. Ensure understanding of detailed design, contractual conditions and specifications to provide recommendation of approval of subcontractors and suppliers in coordination with Contracts and Design teams Project establishment and start up upon successful contract award. Manage positive, efficient relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring beneficial relationships between all parties (both internal and external) are developed. To be successful is this key role, you must have Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction related discipline is required. Solid understanding of tunnelling construction methodology and delivery, particularly in relation to TBM s, road headers, conveyors, electrical reticulation systems and mobile plant. Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience, ideally in a large-scale Civil/Mining/Oil & Gas environment with some commercial exposure. Solid commercial awareness and an absolute commitment to Safety, ensuring OH&S requirements and risk controls are considered in all activities and processes. Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills and support of One Team environment.
